The National Parks and Wildlife Service North Midlands Regional Education Centre operates its community education service, outreach schools programmes and centre based Discover Primary Science programmes from its regional administration building. The regional administration building is located in Ballinafad village which is close to Boyle, just off the N4. The centre has a fully equipped, purpose built nature study classroom as well as a range of habitat study areas located conveniently on site including a pond and stream dipping area, a tree trail, bird watching hide, LINNET (tillage crop for wildlife) plot and sensory and wildlife garden areas. The centre is wheelchair accessible including its toilet facilities. Tea and coffee making facilities are available to programme participants. A large car park area to the front of the building is suitable for school coaches.
